Business Valuation in Hutto
Before you sell, plan an exit or buy out a partner, you need a number you can rely on. We build your valuation from your real books and current buyer demand. It's free, it stays confidential, and you'll know exactly how we got there.

What a Valuation Tells You
A business valuation is our estimate of what a qualified buyer would pay for your company today, and why. For most owner-run businesses, that starts with seller's discretionary earnings: your net profit plus your own salary, plus personal or one-time expenses that run through the books. We then apply a multiple that fits your industry, size and risk.
The number matters less than the reasons behind it. If your value lands lower than you hoped, we'll show you which factors pulled it down and which ones you can still change. Some owners use that list to plan a sale two or three years out. Others learn they're ready to list now.
You don't have to be selling to ask. Owners also call us before signing a partner buyout, updating a succession plan or turning down an offer they weren't sure about.

What's Included in Your Valuation
- 01
A review of your financials
We go through two to three years of tax returns and profit-and-loss statements, plus your current year to date. If your bookkeeping is messy, we'll tell you plainly, since buyers and lenders will notice too.
- 02
Add-backs, documented
We identify expenses a new owner wouldn't carry, like your personal vehicle, a family member's salary or a one-time equipment purchase. Each add-back gets listed so a buyer can follow it.
- 03
A market-based multiple
We compare your business with what similar companies have actually sold for, adjusted for size, growth and how much the business depends on you.
- 04
Assets and inventory
Equipment, furniture, fixtures and inventory are counted separately so you know what's inside the price and what's added at closing.
- 05
A financing check
Most buyers borrow to buy. We test whether your earnings can cover a typical acquisition loan, because a price no lender will back rarely closes.
- 06
A plain-English walkthrough
We sit down with you at our office, or by phone or video, and explain the range, the reasoning and what would move it.
Questions about Business Valuation?
Call(512) 640-2594Signs It's Time for a Valuation
You've had an unsolicited offer
A competitor or investor reached out and you have no idea if their number is fair. A valuation gives you a baseline before you answer.
Retirement is on your calendar
If you want out in the next few years, knowing your value now leaves time to raise it.
A co-owner is ready to leave
An outside figure gives both of you the same starting point. That keeps the buyout talk focused on terms and timing, not on whose estimate is right.
You're thinking about buying
If you're weighing a purchase, we can explain how a seller's asking price compares with what the earnings support. Our Buy a Business page covers that side in more detail.
It's been years since anyone looked
Revenue, margins and buyer appetite change. A figure from five years ago probably isn't your figure today.
How the Valuation Works
- 1
A short first call
You tell us about the business and your goals. Nothing you share leaves the conversation, and there's no obligation.
- 2
You send the documents
We'll ask for tax returns, P&Ls, a list of equipment and basic details on your lease and staff. Most owners pull it together in about a week.
- 3
We do the analysis
We normalize your earnings, apply market comparisons and run the financing test.
- 4
We go over it together
You get a value range, the reasons behind it and the specific steps that could raise it. What you do next is entirely your decision.
What It Costs, and What Moves Your Value
The valuation itself costs you nothing. There are no retainers and no hidden fees, and if you later list with us, you pay nothing up front. What does vary is the value of your business, and these are the factors that move it most.
- Owner dependence
- If customers, vendors and staff all rely on you personally, buyers see risk and offer less. A trained manager or written procedures can lift the multiple.
- Clean, consistent books
- Earnings that match your tax returns are worth more than earnings you have to explain. Cash that never hit the books can't be counted.
- Customer concentration
- One client bringing in a large share of revenue lowers value. A wide customer base, or recurring contracts, raises it.
- Lease and location terms
- A buyer needs a lease that transfers and runs long enough to cover the loan. A short or non-assignable lease can stall a deal, so we look at yours early and flag anything worth renegotiating.
- Trend direction
- Three years of steady growth earns a stronger multiple than flat or falling numbers, even when this year's profit is the same.
Business Valuation Questions
Is this the same as a certified appraisal?
No. Ours is a broker's market valuation, built around what buyers are paying and what lenders will finance. If you need a formal appraisal for a court, estate or tax filing, we'll tell you so you can hire the right professional.
Will my employees or customers find out?
No. We work from documents you send us directly, and we don't contact your staff, customers or vendors. Many owners do the whole thing by phone and video without anyone at the business knowing.
Do I have to list with you afterward?
No. The valuation is yours to keep and use however you want. If you do decide to sell, our Sell a Business page explains how we handle the listing, and we only get paid when the seller does.
How accurate is the number?
We give you a realistic range, not a single promise, because the final price depends on the buyer and the terms. With over $5 million in businesses sold, we base our ranges on what deals like yours actually close at.
What if my business is worth less than I need to retire?
Then it's better to learn that now. We'll show you which changes add the most value, and our Exit Planning service can help you map out the time to make them.
